Poem for Friday and <a href

A Boundless Moment
By Robert Frost

He halted in the wind, and--what was that
Far in the maples, pale, but not a ghost?
He stood there bringing March against his thought,
And yet too ready to believe the most.

'Oh, that's the Paradise-in-bloom,' I said;
And truly it was fair enough for flowers
had we but in us to assume in March
Such white luxuriance of May for ours.

We stood a moment so in a strange world,
Myself as one his own pretense deceives;
And then I said the truth (and we moved on).
A young beech clinging to its last year's leaves.

Friday Five:

1. How many times have you truly been in love?

Three, if we're only counting people, not ideas or abstracts.

2. What was/is so great about the person you love(d) the most?
This is the most ridiculous Friday Five question ever. As if love is quantifiable by listing a bunch of personality attributes! What's so great is that we have a great relationship.

3. What qualities should a significant other have?
An abiding desire to make a long-term relationship work. Passion. Tolerance. Dedication. A sense of humor. Control of temper. The willingness to grow and change with someone else.

4. Have you ever broken someone's heart?
Someone once sent me a dead rose, but I don't believe his heart was seriously wounded, just his ego. And one person indicated to me that I had broken his heart, but considering that he was dating someone else at the time, I was much more annoyed than sorry about it.

5. If there was one thing you could teach people about love, what would it be?
In the real thing, you only get as much as you give, and if you don't love yourself then you don't usually recognize the real thing anyway.

I STILL HAVE NO CABLE. Comcast was supposed to be here to fix it by now. I am having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
