Poem for Friday and Longwood Fountains

Birthday of but a single pang

That there are less to come —

But affluent the doom —

I had a very nice day before my birthday having lunch at Tara Thai with Kay and dinner with my parents, interspersed with some more retail frustration (I must add Kohl's to the list of villains, and declare my appreciation for Charming Charlie -- next year I am doing all my holiday shopping in July). Having my birthday fall over Chanukah always means eating an insane amount in a single week, and this year will be no different!

In other words, a lot of my day was about shopping, which was less fun than it sounds like it should have been but hey, now I can get down to the harder job of making my printer print my holiday card address labels and taking things to the post office. (Which will not be tomorrow, because I need to review the Voyager episode I watched before this week's Elementary.) Here are some of the fountains at Longwood Gardens decorated for the holidays:
