Placeholder for Sunday

Quickie because I have spent the day in the mountains in Virginia, first driving in the fog to try to see the leaves through it along the Skyline Drive, then in Staunton, doing a bit of wandering around antique and bookstores, plus a terrific organic market, and seeing Pericles -- an even stranger romance than The Winter's Tale, though very funny in the parts Shakespeare is certain to have written -- at the American Shakespeare Center's Blackfriars Theatre.

It is cold out in the hills, really feels and smells like fall, and the town is beautiful, still decorated for Halloween and Thanksgiving harvest celebrations without creeping early Christmas. Cheryl met us and we even got to watch a bit of Die Hard while eating dinner. And we are excited that minutes after we passed JMU's campus crowded for Homecoming, the Terrapins beat Penn State! But speaking of Halloween, here are a few more photos -- willl post Virginia pics soon!
