The Dream
By Edna St. Vincent Millay
Love, if I weep it will not matter,
And if you laugh I shall not care;
Foolish am I to think about it,
But it is good to feel you there.
Love, in my sleep I dreamed of waking, —
White and awful the moonlight reached
Over the floor, and somewhere, somewhere,
There was a shutter loose, —it screeched!
Swung in the wind, — and no wind blowing! —
I was afraid, and turned to you,
Put out my hand to you for comfort, —
And you were gone! Cold, cold as dew,
Under my hand the moonlight lay!
Love, if you laugh I shall not care,
But if I weep it will not matter, —
Ah, it is good to feel you there!

I have had A Day, and rather than go into details I will just list 1) driving Maddy to get hair cut, 2) shopping, 3) chores, 4) lunch, 5) rewatching a Voyager episode I hate for a retro review and being told on Facebook that I Am Wrong for hating it, thus leading to an all-evening argument with people that had nothing to do with the episode or even the reasons I hate it, 6) taking a walk, 7) picking up Maddy for work, 8) eating dinner, 9) having a longtime online friend tell me that because we don't share a fandom at the moment, we aren't actually friends any more, which I suppose means we never were, and 10) watching some Bones and the season premiere of Blindspot, which looks like it has a lot of improvements but it's way too soon to tell! Tulips from Brookside Gardens last spring, because I need them tonight:
