Poem for Friday and Local Rainbow

My Heart Leaps Up
By William Wordsworth

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
   Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

Thursday was much like Wednesday in terms of the weather, at least until evening when loud thunderstorms rolled in and upset the cats. I had a bunch of editing and chores to do, then I went out to meet people in the park but it was so sticky that I didn't last long. Just as the rain was ending, this happened!

We watched this week's episode of The Handmaid's Tale, which felt in some ways marginally hopeful, which undoubtedly means crushing things are about to happen. Then we watched the second, devastating episode of Patrick Melrose, which is like a horrific sequel to Downton Abbey. Tomorrow: more plumber!
