Poem for Friday and National Harbor

From Richard III, Act I Scene III
By William Shakespeare

If heaven have any grievous plague in store
Exceeding those that I can wish upon thee,
O, let them keep it till thy sins be ripe,
And then hurl down their indignation
On thee, the troubler of the poor world's peace!
The worm of conscience still begnaw thy soul!
Thy friends suspect for traitors while thou livest,
And take deep traitors for thy dearest friends!
No sleep close up that deadly eye of thine,
Unless it be whilst some tormenting dream
Affrights thee with a hell of ugly devils!
Thou elvish-mark'd, abortive, rooting hog!
Thou that wast seal'd in thy nativity
The slave of nature and the son of hell!
Thou slander of thy mother's heavy womb!
Thou loathed issue of thy father's loins!

--------

Both the kids had chores to do in the morning -- Daniel getting packed and ready for MAGFest, Adam washing his laundry in preparation for going to stay with Katherine's family in Fredericksburg for a few days before flying to San Francisco -- so although Paul worked from home, things were pretty quiet around here until lunch.

Then we had tomato soup and grilled cheese together and watched V For Vendetta, having discovered that our kids had never seen it. It's funny: the last time I saw it, I hated the ending -- gratuitous violence, they'd already won -- while this time it didn't bother me nearly as much. Apparently these days anarchy appeals to me more!

After the movie, we drove Daniel to National Harbor, where we all ate dinner at Mezeh, which is a lot like Cava, and walked down to the waterfront to see the ferris wheel and holiday display (complete with bubble "snow"). Then Adam went to see Parasite with his friends and I caught up on the Doctor Who season premiere, which I enjoyed!
