I know I should write a proper post about the Eras Tour while it's still fresh in my mind, but I'm in the middle of a bunch of chores after having Maddy visit for the weekend, which made the concert so much more fun for me -- I hadn't seen her since Noelle's wedding in 2017 and she's the biggest Taylor Swift fan I know, so we had plans to see the show together even before I knew when I was moving to Seattle. We picked her and Jeremy up from a very crowded SeaTac late Friday night, and on Saturday morning we parked in a lot near T-Mobile Park ahead of Mariners traffic so we could get back to it relatively quickly from Lumen Field that night. Then we wandered to the waterfront to see the Seattle Great Wheel, the Habitat Beach, and the arriving tourists (so many Blue Jays fans among the Swifties).
We went back toward Pioneer Square, where we had lunch at Mod Pizza, did some more walking to find Maddy some supplies for her Taylor dress, ate gelato, made a stop in the gold rush museum mostly for bathrooms and water, and traded bracelets with the many people making and swapping them in the park. In the middle of the afternoon, we walked to the stadium, waited in the endless merch line while the sun was on our seats, admired all the fan costumes, and went to sit just as Haim was starting to play. Taylor came on just before eight and played for more than three incredible hours -- more about the music later! On Sunday we took Maddy to meet our kids for brunch at the Sunlight Cafe while Katherine was on her way to Lumen Field for night two of the concert, and took Maddy to the airport this evening.
