Saturday dawned as a cool gorgeous morning, though the haze from the wildfire smoke was already obscuring the mountains when we drove downtown after breakfast. Our destination was Alki Beach, since despite the smoke this will be the best time for us for tidepool-watching on a weekend this month. We walked along the path at Constellation Park and down into the water where along the rocks, we saw sea stars, sea cucumbers, crabs, anemones, and lots of other little creatures. Then we ate sandwiches on the steps watching chairs being set up for a wedding and walked to the Alki Surf Shop for salt water taffy.
We drove back in the late afternoon and watched some of the Mariners game, some of the Orioles game, some of the Seahawks game, and all of this week's Billions, which gets more ridiculous each week and yet somehow I can't look away (come on, Prince would be running as a Republican! They'd probably even nominate him once he got done throwing money at them!). Now we're watching The Pope's Exorcist, which falls into the category of "things I would only do for Russell Crowe" (cliches about women, cliches about the Devil, tacky pentagrams, the Church absolved of the Inquisition, this is a BAD MOVIE!).
