Greetings from Pioneer Square

Quickie after a lovely evening out with Daniel and Cahaya, who are headed this weekend with her parents to her sister's wedding! We met at Long Bros, a new antiquarian bookstore in the Washington Shoe building in Pioneer Square which had many fantastic finds, then walked past the Chinatown arch to the International District, where we had dinner at the Uwajimaya Village food court and visited the grocery store and the Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya.

We had a moderate disaster when we left, learning when we arrived at our garage which SpotHero had claimed was open till 10:30 pm that it in fact had closed at 6. We had to call the emergency parking number -- at least they sent someone to let us get our van out, so we won't be without it all weekend and paying a lot of money to get it out on Monday. Now we're home, having missed terrible Orioles and Mariners games, watching Our Kind of Traitor.
