Monday was warm but overcast, and since we weren't sure we'd have another weekend for it, we went to the beach on the Chesapeake at Sandy Point State Park. There were a lot of people, but it's never crowded in the bay, and the water temperature was almost as warm as the air, so it was a great day for swimming. (There were jellyfish warning signs, but we only saw a few, and if anyone got stung, we didn't hear about it.) We brought a picnic and our beach umbrella and had a lovely few hours watching boats under the Bay Bridge.
After we changed out of our swimsuits, we walked around the fishing pier and saw an egret across Mezick Pond and a crab in the water trying to steal someone's fishing bait. Then we came home, had seafood (well, in my case vegan salmon) for dinner, and watched the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power again because I wanted to catch details I missed and it's just gorgeous to look at -- feels more like the LOTR movie trilogy to me than any of the Hobbit movies did, despite wargs making me nervous in the previews.
