Paul had Monday off, so after a morning of chores (our service was all in donations), we ate brunch and went to Carderock to walk along the canal. It was a gorgeous, not-very-cold day, and lots of birds were out appreciating the weather -- we saw a great blue heron, many ducks and songbirds, and a belted kingfisher pointed out by the serious bird-watchers with much bigger binoculars and camera lenses. And there was a muskrat under a fallen tree at the edge of the canal.
After our walk, we went to Kohl's end-of-season sale armed with lots of coupons because I really wanted a water-resistant warm coat and found one that ended up being under $40, plus we found a bunch of things on the 70% off rack that wound up costing next to nothing. Later we watched the Fantasy Island with Teri Hatcher, then the unfortunate Dallas-Tampa Bay game (now that the media has decided he's too old, it's easier for me to root for Tom Brady, but he needed receivers who could receive).
