Poem for Monday and Moon Snail Collar

[under the evening moon]
By Kobayashi Issa
Translated by Robert Hass

Under the evening moon
the snail
        is stripped to the waist.

--------

Monday morning went just as you'd think for a Monday morning, plus some additional fighting with my computer which finally has no more room for photos so I need to figure out a new storage solution. In the afternoon, while the laundry was still in the machine, we went to Whole Foods, Safeway, and (since we were out anyway) Blazing Bagels, because three days without bagels are more than enough.

It was a lovely cool day, mostly overcast, so we walked to the beach and through the neighborhood gardens. We had blueberry pancakes for dinner, one of the bonuses of picking blueberries, and watched the Home Run Derby (for Rutschman and Rodriguez) before the long-delayed season premiere of Miracle Workers (all dystopia, all the time).
