We spent six hours on Sunday at the Woodland Park Zoo with my friend Melissa, in overcast weather that didn't rain until we were heading to the parking lot. We haven't been there in several years -- last time the penguins were off display because of bird flu fears -- so it was a lot of fun both to see all the animals and to get to hang out with Melissa, whom I've known for decades but rarely gotten to see in person.
We ate lunch at the zoo before seeing the gorillas and lemurs, and came home late in the afternoon. We saw most of the Florida State blowout of LSU, and now we're watching the first season of Grantchester because of Shalini -- we've seen an episode here or there, but I didn't really know the characters till now. And we had peanut butter and jelly for dinner because we were still full from having such a late lunch!
