Poem for Thursday and Alki Tidepools

Into The Tide Pool
By Robert Rorabeck

Without a ghost I am dead.
And languishing on the servicing highways
I wander—
In a marriage I am allowed to drift,
Cultivated into the working class—
I go about my way the same as anyone—
Happy marionette
Pulled by the stolen lactations of
The moon—
The elevators of my dreams escape me,
But at least I don't have to
Go to school anymore—
I can meander as far as my English mind
Can take me:
Pulled back and forth like the tide
By forces I can barely glean—
But it is a beautiful act,
Staged by the ideologies of men
Forever freeing themselves into cages,
Little shadows, like minnows,
In the tide pools upon the edge of oblivion.

I had a bunch of paperwork to do Thursday, including some scanning, so there went my morning. It was a gorgeous day -- probably the warmest one we'll have for a while -- so we walked to the beach, which was again covered with geese instead of people, and visited the heron on the dock before I chatted with my Thursday night chat group.

The Orioles game ended unfortunately, and the season finale of Shelter felt like a bit of a letdown though it did answer one big question -- not enough to justify all the Holocaust references though. But Sex Education is back and the first two episodes at least are great! Here are some creatures from the tidepools at Alki Beach last weekend:
