Greetings from Bridle Trails

On Sunday morning we went to Bridle Trails State Park, where we went hiking with our kids when we were visiting in 2021. It's right near us on the Redmond-Kirkland border, but we hadn't made it back there since moving out here. There are enormous Douglas fir trees and Western cedars, and though we didn't see any banana slugs, we picked blackberries. Then we came home, watched most of the Orioles-Mariners game, and I caught Froakies for Pokemon Community Day. Eventually we went to Redmond Town Center for more Pokemon and Cold Stone Creamery.

The Orioles beat the Mariners in extra innings, which I'm happy about -- I want both teams in the postseason, and Seattle won one so it's all right if the Os won two. We watched most of the Mets-Braves game, which at least the Mets did not lose by nearly 20 runs this time, and now we're watching Heart of Stone, which is pretty formulaic but has Gal Gadot, Alia Bhatt, and Sophie Okonedo, and oh look there's Glenn Close, plus there were scenes shot in Lisbon and Reykjavik, so I enjoyed watching it despite a lot of killing.
