By Shel Silverstein
One picture puzzle piece
Lyin' on the sidewalk,
One picture puzzle piece
Soakin' in the rain.
It might be a button of blue
On the coat of the woman
Who lived in a shoe.
It might be a magical bean,
Or a fold in the red
Velvet robe of a queen.
It might be the one little bite
Of the apple her stepmother
Gave to Snow White.
It might be the veil of a bride
Or a bottle with some evil genie inside.
It might be a small tuft of hair
On the big bouncy belly
Of Bobo the Bear.
It might be a bit of the cloak
Of the Witch of the West
As she melted to smoke.
It might be a shadowy trace
Of a tear that runs down an angel's face.
Nothing has more possibilities
Than one old wet picture puzzle piece.

I got my new computer! Cidercupcakes came over to wait with me and brought actual cupcakes (with peanut butter icing, best idea ever) and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and we started watching the third season (Fire Nation beach party) plus she caught me up on Jet (with the wind in your hair of a thousand laces), and we got to see Zuko feel every emotion from COMPLETE WOE to UTTER ANGST, so that was generally awesome.
I spent the entire afternoon and evening trying to configure the computer, which is also generally awesome, and extremely fast and superbly equipped, with two big caveats: it won't run the version of Photoshop I have, and I can't find a driver for my nearly-20-year-old scanner that will work with it. Also, I swear that Apple doesn't want people running Windows 7 to use iTunes because they sure didn't make it easy to find a 64-bit version. And does anyone know whether VideoLAN works with Windows 7?
More tomorrow when I have figured out where my Retrospect backup disc has disappeared to and have backed up my hard drive properly. Also, I will catch up on e-mail, LJ comments, Facebook, SPP, etc. Meanwhile, since I have no flying bison, have some gratuitous sheep:
