Greetings from Seward Park

Saturday was a gorgeous day, 65 degrees and sunny! We spent the morning doing chores and watching some spring training baseball, then ate lunch and went to Seward Park on Lake Washington, which is within the Seattle city limits but has lots of waterfowl, at least one pair of eagles, and an Audubon Center with lots of books and stuffed versions of most of the local birds. We walked the couple of miles around the island, saw a turtle, and enjoyed spring arriving -- the earliest cherry blossoms were blooming, as were crocuses, lawn daisies, and the first open daffodils.

 

We stopped at the store for snacks during the Oscars tomorrow night, then came home for dinner, which was Welsh rarebit since March 1 is St. David's Day. Then we watched The Royal We, the Hallmark movie about a career woman who's secretly a princess but then has to get engaged to a prince to stop their fictional European countries from going to war over a province with castles, and if you're thinking I must be shallow for watching such a thing, it was a lot more relaxing than anything real-world-related. Now we're watching the House with Wilson driving to House's father's funeral.
