Wednesday is Paul's and my 30th wedding anniversary, so after dithering for a week because of COVID, weather, etc. and only making a reservation four hours before we left, we decided to go to Fenwick Island for three days, sandwiched between weekends so there would be as few people around as possible and bringing our own food (unless we decide to get contactless Grotto Pizza and eat it here) so we won't need to go anywhere indoors with other people. The only traffic was the usual stretch going east on the Beltway, after which we had an easy drive over the Bay Bridge, across Kent Island and through Delaware farmland to the coastal highway. We unpacked quickly and spent what was left of the day on the beach, with a break for dinner and Stargirl while we waited for it to get dark enough to look for ghost crabs!
Here we are on the beach at Fenwick Island!
Crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Thor at Viking Golf, which I think is open but doubt we will see more closely this trip than from the car
Look, I caught a sand crab!
We saw several dolphins but by the time I ran up the beach to get my camera, this was the best photo we could take
This is as crowded as the beach got -- we walked 100 feet away and had a big section completely to ourselves
Long shadows and a tern
After dinner we walked back outside to look for ghost crabs
