Sunday was the Mabon PNW Witches' Market, this one held at Juanita Beach Park, so we took breakfast sandwiches with us and ate at picnic tables before the festival opened, then spent several hours among my people -- the witches' markets are friendly not only to pagans but to Renaissance faire costumes, LGBT pride, and media fandom to name just a few. I looked at lots of jewelry, plants, flower crowns, and Tarot decks, and had conversations with several people about how we love, for instance, snowy owls but we don't want to be perceived as sharing JKR's transphobia so we wouldn't buy even generic ones any more. We also walked along the lakefront.
A friend kept me up to date on the Orioles game (and eventual victory, and clinching a spot in the postseason), and over the course of the afternoon, the Seahawks and Ravens both won -- even the Commanders -- so apart from the Mariners, pretty much everyone I was rooting for had a good day. We stopped at Michael's to look at sale Halloween decorations on the way home, had veggie burgers for dinner and a chocolate cake parfait from the witches' market for dessert, and now we're watching Grantchester, on which I like Will so much better than I was expecting. Some photos from the festival, walking around Juanita Beach Park, and Halloween shopping:
