Greetings from Meadowlark Gardens

Paul had Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so we had a late start in the morning, then ate bagels for lunch and went to the C&O Canal to take a walk. It was on the chilly side, so no reptiles emerged, though there were many ducks and songbirds. Then we came home, did a couple of chores, and drove into Virginia to meet my friend Shalini at Meadowlark Gardens, which still has its winter light show up.

We've only been there in the spring and summer before, so I can't compare the lights to last year's, but they covered a nice amount of the garden and there was lots of variety, including a "fountain" that changes color and a "pond" with fish and turtles. When we got home, we watched Antiques Roadshow and the first episode of this season of Batwoman, which continues to be problematic in some ways but I do like Ryan Wilder.
