Poem for Thursday and Seattle Sports

Pole| |Sport
By Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon

We turn and turn ourselves
Into the question. We turn ourselves against

Its gravity. An axis we defy.
The idea             spun

Current as—:     an absolute
Value, faith presents        a gift

For our unboxing—: between poles.
We are the line women.

Hungry-handed transformers
Handed lightning—: bolts, striking.

Who wants to address     America?
When I stand in                between

Two poles, I am the absolute        value of
The lyric—: I have been

Where she stands.
Between poles she is the determinant

Of—: gravity. A force, she
Stands in| |for

Her own won now. Headline—:
No flag does justice.

She scales the staff
Herself—: unflagging,

She waves.

I had a fun Thursday morning moving photo files while watching both the Orioles-Astros game (so I could talk about it with , and see Rutschman DH) and the Guardians-Blue Jays game (so I could see Syndergaard pitch, and he got a win!). I also folded laundry and caught up on a massive amount of Taylor Swift news -- 1989 TV already ordered, yay! There was a duck who looked possibly injured at the beach, so I discovered that the fish and wildlife agency actually has a place to report injured animals, which is nice.

The painted turtle was back on the log and the coots are back in the bog, so it was nice to see them. We watched the season finale of Strange New Worlds (after a rewatch of the musical, because a lot happened in it and it's such a delight), and that was intense and well-done though Octavia Butler may deserve a co-writer credit for one twist. Then we watched What We Do in the Shadows, which was hilarious and had a lot going on! Some views of the stadiums and local sports hero decorations we saw around Seafair last weekend:
