Greetings from Forest Grove

Taking a break from putting together a baker's cart for the kitchen of our new house, which we closed on this afternoon, buying it from son and his wife (who picked up Panera for us during an abbreviated walk-through, which started very late because Effie did not want to get in her carrier so badly that we ended up bleeding and covered in cat poop -- the hotel bathroom looked like a crime scene). 

We went out in the afternoon to Petco, Target, and Shaw's (which sells all the Safeway signature brands) to stock up on some necessities, including canned veggie gumbo for Mardi Gras dinner. We managed to get the internet hooked up before my DS9 call, and now we're ready to sleep on son's borrowed air mattress for a week until our furniture arrives. So it was ultimately a good but very tiring day!
