Poem for Wednesday and New Cat Tree

Poem
By William Carlos Williams

As the cat
climbed over
the top of

the jamcloset—
first the right
forefoot

carefully
then the hind
stepped down

into the round
of the empty
flowerpot.

I had a whole bunch of chores to do Tuesday, but by far the most exciting thing to happen around here was that I picked up a big cat tree from someone in my local Buy Nothing group -- by far the largest cat tree we have ever had, I had to collapse two rows of seats in the minivan just to get it inside -- and when I got home, I did extremely traumatic things to cats like setting it up in the living room, moving the table that had been in that corner, moving the glass bottles that had been on top of the table, and taking photos while the new tree was sniffed all over to make sure it was safe:

We found Panera's awesome autumn squash soup at the food store, so we had that for lunch, and Taco Tuesday for dinner after taking a walk. Fully half of my Voyager group couldn't come this week (one on a plane, one vacationing with friends, one dealing with a family issue), so we chatted instead of watching an episode, but that is always fun -- I've known the two there since the '90s. After that we rewatched this week's episode of The Rings of Power because I like to see what I missed the first time through (and also enjoy the hotness of Elendil, whom I know sadly can't end up with Miriel).
