Poem for Wednesday and Canal Herons

The Forest
By Annette Wynne

The forest is the town of trees
Where they live quite at their ease,
With their neighbors at their side
Just as we in cities wide.

Someone said this was a very Monday-feeling Tuesday, a sentiment with which I agree. Mine was mostly about laundry, scanning, and catching up on all the email and stuff that I ignored while out having fun over the long weekend. We had a lot of rain in the morning and a bit in the afternoon, so it was humid but not outrageously hot, and by the time we took a walk, there were finches and bunnies out making up for the time lost munching during the storms.

After dinner I watched the first part of Voyager's "The Killing Game" with my Tuesday night crowd, and while I've never thought this was a great episode -- I hate it when Janeway loses control of her ship -- it's still a very fun episode with everyone in their 1940s costumes and Seven singing. Then we watched tonight's What We Do in the Shadows season finale, which needed more Nandor and Guillermo but at least Colin is back. Herons from the canal last week:
