Greetings from Boonsboro

We had pouring rain all morning on Sunday, but by the time we ate lunch, it was slowing down, so we decided to keep our plans to go to Boonesborough Days in Boonsboro near South Mountain, a history-and-crafts festival in the big central park with play equipment and war memorials. Because of the rain and mud, a lot of exhibitors didn't set up their tents, but there was beautiful glass jewelry and two chainmaille crafters and lots of seasonal decor, plus the raptor rescue group. Then we went to South Mountain Creamery to see calves and get ice cream and cheese.

We had some of the cheese we got at the creamery with veggie soup and crackers for dinner. Then we watched The Queen, which I've been in the mood to watch since last Thursday -- it's not the most flattering portrait of her, but it's very focused on the woman herself rather than on her sister, husband, and everyone else (and it's really aware of all the ways Philip affected her reputation). And whenever I try to picture Tony Blair, I see Michael Sheen's face. We'd seen the first few minutes of the Dallas game and the Ravens won while we were out, so that was good news.
