Poem for Thursday and Seneca Creek Lights

Winter Love

I would like to decorate this silence,   
but my house grows only cleaner
and more plain. The glass chimes I hung   
over the register ring a little
when the heat goes on.
I waited too long to drink my tea.   
It was not hot. It was only warm.

Wednesday was dark and gloomy but not very cold around here. I had a quiet morning doing chores, then I talked to two of my high school friends at lunchtime. After that, we took the car in for routine stuff and stopped at the UPS Store and Giant, plus a swing through Cabin John Park for Pokemon reasons. 

We watched The Masked Singer holiday special, the LEGO Masters race car competition, and the new episode of Willow, which is much darker than I expected given the number of young leads. From Seneca Creek State Park last month, a view of the Gaithersburg winter light show walking around in daylight:
