Poem for Thursday and Local Boats

As The Cat
By William Carlos Williams

As the cat
climbed over
the top of

the jamcloset
first the right
forefoot

carefully
then the hind
stepped down

into the pit of
the empty
flowerpot

--------

Thursday was mostly an unpacking day -- having finished the bedroom bookcases, I'm working on the living room bookcases -- but we had magnificent weather yet again, breezy in the apartment and warm in the sun, so we walked to the park in the afternoon. We also got our living room rug, which the cats are very happy about (I learned from Animal Control that people in Seattle are only allowed to have three cats in the city).

Most of my Thursday night chat group came to talk this evening -- one person was out of town, on my coast but not my state -- then we caught up on Ghosts, including tonight's season finale, and last night's Masked Singer semifinals, on which Medusa rocked. Some local water craft, including Adam and Pepper on his paddleboard, and boats decked out with fake predators to keep geese from landing on them and wreaking havoc:
