Greetings from the Olympic Peninsula
Extreme quickie after spectacular day driving to and exploring the Olympic Peninsula, which included a picnic and hike above the snow line around Hurricane Ridge where deer and fawns were also present, a walk to Madison Falls from the Elwha River, a visit to Crescent Lake, arriving in Forks and visiting some of the many Twilight-themed attractions -- from the high school and restaurants recreated in the movie to the amazing Native To Twilight store with its huge collection of Native American and Pacific Northwest souvenirs as well as Bella and Edward Barbie and Ken dolls -- and a post-dinner visit to Rialto Beach on the Pacific Ocean with its sea stacks, masses of driftwood, post-9 p.m. sunset colors, and large bull kelp (which in our family are called "spiffies" since Adam dubbed them so when we visited in 2005):
