We drove back to Redmond in the late afternoon and went to Safeway to get food for the week -- our refrigerator and freezer are still mostly empty from the blackout -- then came home and saw the end of the LA-KC game, which was about as dramatic as it gets. After a small dinner because of the big lunch, we watched Dune: Prophecy, which I am enjoying a lot; it's often over the top, but it's so focused on female characters that I don't care. Now we're watching the first episode of The Agency, which has a wonderful cast and so far lots of tension with no explanations yet of what's up.

Greetings from Snoqualmie
On Sunday we met our friend Liz -- who lived in the same dorm as Paul and me in college though he knew her much better than I did until the LiveJournal era -- and her husband Gary, who are visiting the Seattle area for a few days. We went to Snoqualmie Falls, which was a bit drizzly when we arrived but merely overcast after we had seen the waterfall and visitor center, then we drove into Snoqualmie and had lunch at the Irish pub Saints & Scholars, which serves all-day breakfast on the weekends and had the Seahawks game on five screens, plus a "gin palace" behind the bar.
