Greetings from the Zoo

Sunday was just as beautiful a day as Saturday, so even though there was an Irish festival in the city for St. Patrick's Day, we decided to spend it at Woodland Park Zoo. We brought lunch to eat there and saw many animals, including penguins, wolves, brown bears, kangaroos, giraffes, two species of otter, dozens of families of birds, and a variety of great cats including lions, jaguars, and leopards. It was as busy as we've seen the zoo but didn't feel crowded even around the playful gorillas.

We stopped at Safeway for weekly supplies on the way home, then we ate Guinness beef stew (well, Impossible beef stew) and Irish cheddar for dinner while watching the NCAA tournament announcement show -- the Maryland women will play Iowa State, the Maryland men didn't even get an invitation to the NIT. Then we watched a bunch of Resident Alien until it was time for this week's The Way Home, where I wish there was more Jacob and less Young Kat and Elliot, as usual.
