The rest of the day was about the Oscars, starting with the preshow and red carpet (lots of pink, and I was happy to see Chris Hemsworth and RDJ greet each other so warmly). I'm glad I saw Poor Things because if I hadn't I probably would have resented it beating Barbie for the design awards, but I really felt that it deserved them, though I was absolutely shocked that they gave Emma Stone another trophy so soon after La La Land (which wasn't nearly as striking a performance) and when Lily Gladstone had dominated awards season. At least Da'Vine Joy Randolph won. Otherwise, my favorite moment besides Just Ken was DeVito and Schwarzenegger threatening Michael Keaton!

Greetings from Idylwood
It rained most of Sunday, so we ended up having a very quiet day. We watched one of the Orioles spring training games against the Blue Jays -- the other was radio only, though ESPN and Kate kept me caught up -- while we folded laundry and vacuumed. Weirdly, I also got a USPS package delivered, even though it was Sunday. Then we ate lunch and drove to Marymoor Park, but it was raining so hard that we decided not to pay to park and instead headed to Idylwood Park, where the rain lessened somewhat and the large numbers of mallards and coots did not appear to mind, anyway. Here are some of the former showing off their feathers:
