Poem for Monday and Arboretum Yarn Bombing

Another Way to Say Divorce
By Kelli Russell Agodon

At the grocery store, the woman told her
children, I’m selling daddy to the circus
But what she meant to say was that his
eyes were the color of tigers, the color of
the flaming rings he tried to make her jump
through.

--------

The central event of my Monday was my semiannual waterboarding, I mean dental cleaning, and I suppose it went well because I have no cavities, my old fillings are fine, my gums are okay, etc. But they moved the time of my appointment twice and this particular hygienist filled my sinuses and lungs with water while the suction thing that's supposed to remove the water instead sucked my inner cheek so hard I now have a cankersore...I am never going back to this practice!

It was otherwise an uneventful day, not too cold, rainy on and off though we managed to walk almost the whole way back from Idylwood before it really started coming down. We had faux chicken slop (sorry, faux chicken and noodles in faux cream of chicken soup) for dinner, and now we're bingeing more of Resident Alien, which is at its funniest when kids and octopuses are involved. Some of the transformed trees and art at Evergreen Arboretum for the Color Storm! yarn-bombing:
