Poem for Tuesday and CHOMP Entrepreneurs

Heat Wave
By Samuel Menashe

Sheets entangle him
Naked on his bed
Like a toppled mast
Slack sails bedeck
At sea, no ballast
For that even keel
He cannot keep—
No steering wheel
As he falls asleep

--------

We had yet another day of heat on Tuesday, though tomorrow is supposed to be only in the mid-70s, huzzah. I did a bunch of chores in the morning, cleaned up some files, had acai bowls for lunch, then in the afternoon we walked to the park, where the lake had warning signs and the ducks were asleep in the shade.

My Trek group watched DS9's "The Siege" -- the end of the trilogy starting the third season, in which Kira and Dax save Bajor and Winn puts winning above everything, not for the last time. We also watched this week's creepy Alien: Earth and finished off Poldark none too soon. Kid entrepreneurs at CHOMP Fest:
