Poem for Friday and Louisa May Alcott's House

Here's A Nut
By Louisa May Alcott

Here's a nut, there's a nut;
Hide it quick away,
In a hole, under leaves,
To eat some winter day.
Acorns sweet are plenty,
We will have them all:
Skip and scamper lively
Till the last ones fall."

We had rain most of the day on Friday, though it turned into drizzle in the afternoon long enough for us to take a walk to the beach (which we had to ourselves apart from ducks, geese, and eagles because the temperatures were so much lower). I did some work in the morning while listening to the rest of the New Heights podcast with Taylor Swift, we had bagels for lunch, and then I fell into a Google hole looking up stuff about other artists who'd lost rights to their music ("Bitter Sweet Symphony" and John Fogerty are both interesting reads in that regard).

I ate leftover excellent Ballard Pizza for dinner while watching the first several episodes of Murderbot with Cheryl, who hadn't seen it before. The Mariners and Orioles were both playing at the same time (and both won!), and afterward we watched this week's Foundation (with almost no Empire). Now we're watching the learning-to-play-the-drums-for-Ed-Sheeran episode of Limitless: Live Better Now and Chris Hemsworth is practicing with the band Parkway Drive, not very well yet.
