Greetings from Snohomish

After a Sunday morning of building a LEGO aquarium that Paul got me for my birthday and glancing at football, we drove to Snohomish to meet Chris and see the Gothard Sisters at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, which is a beautiful, very small venue so unlike when we saw them last winter in Edmonds, we got to see the fiddling, guitar playing, and Irish step dancing up close. The concert was a celebration of the release of their new album Storyteller and the music was lovely -- plus there were pastries and cider in the room with the merchandise, which included bookmarks made by their mother themed to each of the songs on the new album.

There was a big storm while we were in Snohomish, but we missed the entire thing while we were in the theater and came out to beautiful sunset sky colors. The Mariners game had started by the time the concert ended, and they were down two runs by the time we said goodbye to Chris, so it's just as well we didn't spend the day waiting for the game -- especially since they lost. After the game, we watched Bad Shabbos, which is a hilarious black comedy with great pacing (and I really appreciate that all the Jewish characters are played by Jews). Now we're watching the first episode of The Residence, which is also very funny and well cast.
