We spent the rainy last day of 2022 getting rid of stuff -- a trip to the dump with three twin mattresses, a whole lot of computer parts, some antifreeze, and some junk, visits from Freecyclers and Facebook Marketplace shoppers to pick up younger son's bicycle and bunks beds, and a bunch of packing and sorting, all while watching two Big 10 teams play valiantly and lose the Fiesta and Peach Bowls.
We had dinner with my parents while watching Michigan try to overcome TCU, after which I could not handle football for a couple of hours so we watched High School Musical because I'd seen it started on New Year's Eve and believe it or not I'd never seen it! It was quite enjoyable and ended early in the third quarter of the Ohio State-Georgia match-up, so there was more yelling at the TV. At the close of 2002:
