Greetings from Mason Neck

Sunday was cold but beautiful, so we decided to go to Mason Neck to see the tundra swans that winter at the Elizabeth Hartwell National Wildlife Refuge. It's about a mile walk from the parking lot through the woods to the overlook, and we approached from a different trail than last year, which put us closer to the swans and we saw bald eagles this time! There were also osprey, vultures, and many, many American black ducks, mallards, and coots.

We saw the start of the Bills game and the end of the Giants game, plus most of the Ravens loss to the Bengals, though I insisted on a break to watch The Mayfair Witches, which has changed several things from the books but I'm hoping that means there's also less rape and incest. Now we're watching the first episode of The White Lotus because Alexandra Daddario made me think of it and Jennifer Coolidge keeps winning all the awards this season.
