Greetings from Seahurst

Quickie just back from fireworks after a glorious Fourth of July spent mostly at Seahurst, which we decided to visit because the supermoon is causing more dramatic tides than usual, so at low tide we walked further out than we were ever able to before. There were lots of sea stars, sea cucumbers, and assorted mollusks, but also more crabs than we've seen on other beaches and moon snails making egg cases as we watched! There were even ducklings plus a seal offshore hunting for salmon.

We had brought a picnic for lunch at the beach, then we walked to the car back along the stream in the middle of the afternoon and drove home as the temperatures got into the 80s. I watched episode four of the third season of Picard with my Voyager group. Then we watched A Capitol Fourth on PBS until dusk, when we walked down to the dock, from which we could see the Issaquah fireworks display plus a whole bunch of people shooting off rockets from their porches and boats.
