Greetings from Woodinville

Sunday's weather was like Saturday's -- overcast, chilly, damp -- perfect for hiking. We went to Brightwater, which is King County's water treatment facility in Woodinville; the treatment plant and information center were closed, but the miles of hiking trails through woods and wetlands were open, as were the gardens with dahlias and what's left of summer herbs. We also stopped at Molbak's Garden Center, which has Halloween displays outside but Christmas spreading inside where there were glass pumpkins previously.

We did a bunch of shopping on the way home -- the PCC for groceries, World Market for early holiday goodies, Safeway and Rite Aid for necessities. Then we watched the Rangers-Astros game, which was very enjoyable, especially the grand slam that clinched the game for Texas. Now we're watching some more Suits and my neighbor and I are texting about how much Halloween candy we need for the kids in the neighborhood, who apparently often go to the Microsoft campus because they give out lots of treats there.
