Saturday was cool, overcast, and drizzly at times, but I had a lovely day out and about, starting in Issaquah which was having an apple festival around the historic Shell station that included both a farmers market and artist market, plus a couple of musical stages and lots of apple and harvest themed displays. We visited the fish hatchery since it was right nearby and saw lots of salmon in the creek. Then we drove to Snoqualmie, where it was misty around the huge waterfall, but dry under the trees where we ate lunch and in the Salish Lodge and new visitor center, which has exhibits about the Snoqualmie tribe and the history of the land.
From there, we drove under gorgeous tree color to Fall City Farms, which primarily has pumpkin picking at this time of year, but also has sunflowers, chickens, rabbits, sheep, goats, and a market selling local produce including hot cider and fresh mini-donuts, which of course we got to eat while we walked to the pumpkin patch. It's free to visit, so although it's not very big, I recommend it! We stopped at Whole Foods on the way home for Amazon returns and a bit of grocery shopping, then watched the Phillies beat the Diamondbacks around dinner, though we missed most of the day's football, apart from the surprisingly close UW game going on now.
