Greetings from Lake Sammamish

We had a quiet morning on MLK Day, then we headed to Issaquah, where we walked around at Lake Sammamish State Park to see whether they got much snow. The mallards and buffleheads appeared unfazed, as did a pair of eagles along one of the trails, though there were happy kids trying to skate in boots on the thin layer of ice covering the low-lying grass. From there we went to REI to look at outdoor winter clothes, visited Fortunato Chocolate for obvious reasons, and stopped in the PCC market for some groceries.

We missed most of the Bills-Steelers game, though it ended the way we wanted. And around dinner (Bombay potatoes and coconut chick pea and turmeric curry from World Market), we watched most of the Buccaneers-Eagles game -- which I thought perhaps Philadelphia was destined to win because we had another pair of eagles in the tree outside our bedroom window, but Tampa Bay blew them out. Now we're watching some more White Collar. Some photos of the park, stuffed animals at REI, and adorable socks at the PCC:
