Out of doubt, out of dark, to the day’s rising
I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
To hope’s end I rode and to heart’s breaking:
Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall.
Out of doubt, out of dark, to the day's rising
he rode singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
Hope he rekindled, and in hope he ended;
over death, over dread, over doom lifted
out of loss, out of life, unto long glory.

We had rain in the forecast on Monday, but it was still absolutely gorgeous out after lunch, so since I'd spent the morning doing laundry and various other chores, we took an early walk to the beach to enjoy the sun. Then we took another walk in the late afternoon after a couple of hours of work and discovered a new family with 20 ducklings right behind our apartment! We saw three other mother ducks with babies too, and several potential dads.
It stormed before dinner, but we wound up with a big rainbow over the lake, so in all it was a perfect weather day. We watched the Mariners lose, ate dinner, and decided that we were still in a Theoden mood, so we watched LOTR: The Return of the King -- the Houses of Healing are the only must-see extended scene for me in this one, and it's woefully incomplete, but the charge of the Rohirrim remains superb.
