By Frank Herbert
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over and through me.
When it has gone, I will turn the inner eye to its path.
Where it has been, there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

It rained all day Tuesday, dawn till dusk, with temperatures in the 50s. So apart from the family of eagles outside our window -- it seems like the adults are chasing off the juveniles, though maybe they're just encouraging them to hunt for themselves -- we saw fewer waterfowl than usual, and had a fairly quiet day. (It wasn't just us: the Orioles-Cardinals game was suspended due to rain, to be finished tomorrow, while the Mariners beat the Yankees again.)
My Voyager group watched the first part of "Unimatrix Zero" -- not too bad, though it's kind of Borg on the cheap and too much rewriting of Seven's history. I talked to my college roommate for an hour and a half, then we ate dinner and now we're watching Dune: Part Two, which is good but not the masterpiece I was told. Well acted, nicely filmed, but feels dated and needs to throw its imperialist fantasy Iron Throne into the sea. Gorgeous Green Lake last weekend:
