Sunday was quite warm and we had tickets for Glenstone right after lunch, so we ate eggs and fake bacon, then headed off into the very warm afternoon sun. Split-Rocker is in full bloom and we saw at least five frogs in the water courtyard, and we visited the new Doris Salcedo exhibit. Instead of walking the full sculpture loop, we went to the McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area, but the sunflowers were past peak and we headed toward the wrong field, so we got quite a lot of sun!
When we passed the Kunzang Palyul Choling temple, we saw a sign that the Garuda Aviary was open, so we stopped to visit the rescued parrots, something we haven't done in nine years. One of their caretakers was spraying them with water to keep them cool and told us about the histories of some of the birds and how they care for abandoned and mistreated animals. In addition to the beautiful stupas, the temple now has a farm and cares for some animals including two pigs that we met.
We had Impossible Burgers for dinner, and after that, we watched what's likely to be the second to last ever episode of Westworld, which was excellent (and a bloodbath, though that's nothing new on this show and less violent than early seasons). We also watched the first episode of The Sandman, which is visually arresting, well-cast, and hard to evaluate from a single episode except to say that it's certainly interesting enough for me to want to watch the second.
