Poem for Tuesday and Garuda Sanctuary

O Snail
By Kobayashi Issa
Translated by R.H. Blyth

O snail
Climb Mount Fuji,
But slowly, slowly!

--------

Monday was a Monday, with added chores because we needed to stop in CVS and Giant -- someone left the cheddar out yesterday while we were out, so it had to be tossed -- but most of what needed to get done got done, except for the folding of laundry, which hopefully will get done Tuesday. I packed up some of the eight Complete Works of Shakespeare we own and now must decide which of the illustrated ones to keep. We got potato and macaroni salad while shopping, so we had that with dinner.

Since we just saw Thirteen Lives, we watched The Rescue, which is equally excellent; the feeling is always different in a documentary with people focusing on their own agendas but it's still a glorious story. And we watched some more Sandman, which I am enjoying when it's not extremely dark. Here are some pictures from the Kunzang Palyul Choling temple and Garuda Aviary, under the spiritual guidance of the first western woman I know of who has been enthroned as a reincarnated lama.
