I had a nice, busy Saturday, though it started at Paul's office, which was having a shredding event so employees could bring in documents to destroy and have it done by professionals, then a stop at the dump to get rid at last of all the floppy discs we still had in the house. From there we went to Washingtonian Lake so I could see geese and do some Mega Gyarados raids during a Pokemon Go event, most of which I did with a family I met there and some family and friends long-distance (only one shiny though).
Then we went to some of the Countryside Artisans open for the fall tour, starting with Something Earthy Pottery Studio, which fed us snacks and cider while we looked at the crafts (we bought a nautical-themed serving plate, sauces, and earrings) and where we visited the chickens. Then we went to Heron's Meadow Farm, which mostly grows tea and also sells crafts, so we got several teas and I got some crocheted necklaces. We wound up at Breezy Hill Farm to visit alpacas, sheep, and peacocks and get alpaca socks.
We stopped at Giant on the way home, had burgers for dinner, watched The Rings of Power with Cheryl (young Elrond is growing on me and they answered a couple of questions about Galadriel I really wanted to know. Then we all watched Catherine Called Birdy, which feels more like A Knight's Tale (the movie, not Chaucer) than a straight adaptation, and since some people love the book for its attempts at authenticity, that might be a turnoff for some, but I enjoyed it and found the new ending an improvement!
