We had a busy Sunday to follow our busy Saturday, starting with early brunch and a drive to Hanover to visit Paul's parents past turning trees and Halloween decorations in people's front yards. This trip had a practical aspect (finishing their taxes) as well as a social one, and it was nice to walk around and see all the fall and Halloween decorations. We watched a bit of the Tampa Bay game and briefly Skyped the kids, too.
Then we headed to Ellicott City, which was having its annual Wizarding Weekend On Magical Main after many pandemic-related delays. Many of the local stores and restaurants had magic-themed food and things for sale, but a lot of the local stores (Forget-Me-Not Factory, the game store, the toy stores) are magic-themed all the time, so it's a perfect place for a wizarding scavenger hunt and craft tables and decorations!
We stopped at Roots Market, where we discovered Paul's brother's latest snacks, Outstanding Foods' vegan cheese balls, then we went to the Big Greek Cafe off Norbeck, where I had falafel with hummus and fire feta, which was delicious. We came home to our hungry cats, ate some of the butterbeer fudge that we bought at the festival, and watched the new episode of Interview with the Vampire around the Ravens victory!
