Paul had Monday off for a "recharge day" that just happened to coincide with Indigenous Peoples' Day, so we decided to enjoy the gorgeous weather and go to Poolesville. We walked along the trail between the canal and river at Riley's Lock, where there were lots of turtles and a couple of herons, then we went to Homestead Farm to pick a pumpkin, though of course we visited the farm animals first.
On the way home we stopped in Potomac Village for cat food. We had Three Sisters stew for dinner, butterscotch nut bars for dessert, and this week's Quantum Leap (ongoing consent issues balanced against evidence Scott Bakula will be back) in between bouts of Monday Night Football (I can't root for a team whose fans do racist chants on Columbus Day and I also reflexively root against the Raiders, urgh).
